I was born and brought up in Linwwod and was horrified when I came back to visit about a year or so ago. I don`t understand why they don`t just knock down both shopping centres, the public toilets, the Mount Royal and get some more police in the area. It`s ironic that they had a police station for years and didn`t need it and then closed it as soon as the place deteriorated. I really hope the locals voted wisely at the election a few weeks ago.

i guess i made a mistake of coming back to my home town . watching this movie brought tears to my eyes. when people ask where i come from i dont tell them as im ashamed.

i lived in linwood for half of my life and its never been as bad as it is now. some of my realtives live there and when i go ans see them im still shocked at the state its in. i used to love going to the park in clippens road but now there is nothing left of it.

i am gutted i grew up in linwood have been gone 20 years such a shame . it was a great place to grow up. going up the manor to climb dr who tree! nicking andersons totties! swimming in the gryffe, we had great fun. such a shame the wanes noo canney hiv the same. gutted.

I just got sent this from an old school pal who now lives in America and I am totally gutted. We both grew up in Linwood - someone said that it wasn't the best? It was great. The streets were clean, we had shops, pubs, a YOUTH CLUB...amenities. This is a huge wake up call Linwood. Get your arses into gear and make your councillors and MSPs accountble. How dare they allow this to happen to your town? MAKE them fix it.

Not in the video but in the comments people are blaming "neds" etc. but it is not their fault Linwood is like this. It is the closedown of the car factory all those years ago or other heavy industries in Glasgow. I spent most of my childhood in Linwood school, grandeparents house etc. and both sides of my family are from linwood both moving in when it was a new town and out of my mum's 9 siblings and my dad's 5 none live in Linwod anymore.

first thing to do is get rid of all the junkies they have moved here, the place was a lot better before we had they skanks here. then concentrate on cleaning the place up!!!

This is the future folks. Linwood is on a downward spiral just like many other towns in Britain. Building supermarkets and knocking down a few buildings isn`t going to change anything. The junkies and scum that roam the streets will still be there. They just won`t have to walk as far as Asda to steal. The police don`t help, the govenment don`t help. This video really got to me. I've been here for all 20 years of my life. I have early memories of a much happier Linwood. When I was wee, exploring the trees of the forest at the back of the sports centre and the old Manor House ruins.

These days I try and avoid actually being out in Linwood as much as possible because it's so depressing. It does feel as though we've been forgotten.

I like how you called them out young friends, rather than just saying neds. I say that because I don't think neds are all to blame at all here. There's neds in just about every town and those places aren't as bad as Linwood.

I think the downfall of Linwood probably began when the car factory closed down. To me it feels like we're a town with no history... because most of the things that were here that made us unique are gone.

Watched your video it made me sad Like all the others I grew up in Linwood from 1970s and have fond memories of St Convals and St Brendans and also going up the manor and swimming in the Gryfee. I have been away for 20years now but I am not ashamed to say I grew up in Linwood.I hope the council have watched this video if not they should Well done for making the video x

I'm originally from Linwood myself, it was bad when I lived there 5 years ago, but really is a mess now.

Spent many happy years growing up in Linwood in the 70's - what have the councillors let this town become?? So sad, hang your heads in shame. There is decline, but this is criminal neglect. I regularily drive through it and the pattern of this video is repeated all over the town. From a thriving small town to this state in 25 years - thats quite an achievement.

I love the amount of time 'LYT' appears, they used to frequently pay a visit to Houston and slit some car tyres and...you know the usual.
