Linwood Active would like to thank the schools and nurseries that took part in the recycle of all textiles on Friday the 25th of February, this was very successful but could not have been possible without the support of head teachers of both primary schools, Miss McNab and Mr Cummings.

The majority of the recycle materials were collated together and uplifted by “City Reclamation” who will now distribute the items to the people in Africa.

Mr Cummings pulled his school Our lady of Peace together in just a few days as he received “Linwood Actives” request to help later than the rest of the schools and nurseries. A huge thank you to him and staff and their organisational skills.

We had a fantastic response from East Fulton School and nursery and without the help of Mr Robertson the school janitor we would still be loading the stuff onto the van!!!

The community nursery and Morton nursery also took part so thank you to all staff there.

As recycling becomes more of an everyday occurrence “Linwood Active” has a continued commitment to make a difference to the world around us. You will shortly see our textile recycle banks situated on Bridge Street and one other as yet unconfirmed site in and around Linwood. With this being available 24 hours a day 7 days a week we hope you as parents and carers will continue your support both to us and the environment.

Thank you to volunteers Edel Yule, Karen Irvine and Katrina Downey for their help.
