running battles craig road - 2008/08/13 21:49 I would like to know why police patrol that area(north clippens) during the day and are nowhere to be seen at night. Fridays and Saturdays can be terrifying for all those who live there 30 to 40 linwood and Bridge Of Weir teenagers clash in what i can only describe as running battles with bricks, sticks, knives and believe it or not saws. when the police do turn up its too late to prevent car windows being smashed and house windows.PLEASE POLICE OFFICERS DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR EVEN KILLED.

Re:running battles craig road - 2008/08/18 15:37 Just an update to what i was saying before. Two young boys were attacked in broad daylight Sunday. 1 with blood pouring from a bad gash on the side of his head and the other with a sore back after they had been attacked by thugs with bricks calling theirselves the Bridge Of Weir young team. I have 2 questions 1.where were the police? and 2. when is it going to end?

Re:running battles craig road - 2008/08/19 16:54 Just been talking too a friend in Ireland who pointed out too me that the system in place over there and which is now law in England and Ireland it seems is, under 12's have too be home by 7pm if they are seen by the police they are taking home, over 12's are too be home by 9pm, if they are seen then they will be taken too the police station where they are kept till an adult comes too pick them up.

If for any reason a kid has too be out passed these times then they must have a parent/adult with them.

Seems a good idea, what about if the police catch these "lovely kids", 1 - Name and Shame Them, 2 - Have a programme set up were these kids can be taken under supervision and get them too clear up the nature walks and cycle paths of all their debris and graffti from these areas, never know it just might get them too respect there area and too look after it.

But on that note just look at the damage done too the new lighting fixtures that was put in on the cycle path at the back of St Benedict's, that must have cost a couple of thousand from the taxpayer's money.

Re:running battles craig road - 2008/10/30 22:37 This is not law in England at all dont know where you hearing this.Only as part of an ASBO can curfewing come into force. Too hard to enforce you would need at least three hundred more police offiercs per town just for this alone

The only way to deal with this problem si to bvring in specialist you th workers to work the streets we have acheived a 92% reduction in youth related crime, anti social behaviour and othe rassociated problems by activley engaging both parents and young people in programmes. As a linwood boy reading this makes me feel very sad.I sympathise with you.
