Linwood Chat !

Sanctuary Housing - 2007/01/18 02:27 About 150 Linwood folk at the meeting on Wednesday 17th Jan. This must make this the best attended public meeting for a while in Linwood. Quite a few interesting questions asked but I know there must be many others. It should be a really big step forward for Linwood but times of change can be stressful even when for the best.

How do you feel about your home being demolished?

How do you feel about getting new landlords despite the results of the housing transfer showing most people wanted to stay with the council?

Are you looking forward to a back & front door home perhaps for the first time?

Cowal drive new housing still too near the power sub-station and overhead power lines?

Any other thoughts good or bad on this massive change for Linwood?

new housing? - 2007/01/18 23:40 Do we know which blocks are to be demolished ? is that why the council dont seem keen to carry out repairs or maintenance ? do we know if the new houses are to have gardens ,or be open plan ? Contact details for all Ward 9 councillors are now online.

Re:new housing? - 2007/01/18 23:43 The council know exactly which blocks are coming down and this information should be available. I would imagine everyone in a block scheduled for demolition will have been informed by now & that was why there was such a big turn out at the public meeting. The question about repairs was asked and not answered very well. The new houses will be from 2 bedroomed upwards and should all have some sort of garden. The plans are on the council web site somewhere and I have emailed Sanctuary Housing asking for copies of all the info available so it can be published on here.
